Outlined below are the fundamental words and terms that define UpMail. As you go through the onboarding process and navigate the tool, you may encounter these essential words/terms that are integral to its functionality.
EMAIL TEMPLATES
Email Template: A pre-defined email layout that already includes content and images. Instead of starting a new email from scratch each time, you can leverage UpMail's template library as a foundation.
Recommended Template: These are the brand-approved email templates created by the account's UpMail Champions.
Team Template's: These templates are created by end-users who opt to share them with other UpMail users. In certain instances, some end-users may not have access to this functionality, as the UpMail Champion may prefer only the utilization of the Recommended Templates.
My Template's: All users have the option to save templates privately in 'My Templates' if they choose not to share them with others. In certain instances, some end-users may not have access to this functionality, as the UpMail Champion may prefer only the utilization of the Recommended Templates.
Team's My Templates: UpMail Champions are able to view all 'My Template's' created.
Template Categories: Template Categories will allow UpMail Champions to organize templates into common themes making them easier to find.
EMAILS
Email Composer: The Email Composer functions as a WYSIWYG page with dual purposes: it serves as a platform for editing and sending emails, as well as a space for editing and saving email templates.
Top Banner/Email Header: The top banner, which includes a logo and links, will be present in all your email templates. UpMail Champions can edit it through Setup > Account Settings.
Hero Shot: The hero shot is the first main image that sets the tone of the email.
Email Signature: A users email signature will appear at the bottom of all of the emails. The personal information within the email signature is pulled from each users profile settings.
Bottom Banner/Email Footer: The bottom banner, which includes your brand colour and link to 'Download as a PDF', will be present in all your email templates. UpMail Champions can edit it through Setup > Account Settings.
Recommended Content: Recommended Content refers to specific content set by an UpMail Champion for use by end-users. This curated content serves as suggested or preferred content options to streamline the user experience.
Text Snippets: Text snippets are sections of text used within an email/email template.
Merge Fields: Merge fields serve as dynamic placeholders, that pull in content from external sources including Recipient Information, Sales & Catering Bookings and UpMail User Information.
Supporting Content (Docs & Links): Supporting Content is an image with a label or overlay icon that links to a document or webpage.
CONTENT
Content Library: The Content Library is where all of your content can be accessed by UpMail Champions. This includes: Images, Documents & Links (Supporting Content), Text Snippets, Editable Documents and Webpages.
Content Tags: Content Tags are used to label or categorize content within your Content Library making it easier to find content and set Recommended Content.
My Library: My Library consists of content that is uploaded and exclusively available for use by the individual user.
USER TYPES
Champions: UpMail Champions are essentially the Admins of your UpMail account and will have access to all features and settings.
End-Users: End-users have limited capabilities within an UpMail account.
